New Zealand Sugar Company has its primary operation and distribution base at the Chelsea refinery in Auckland. Here we produce, market and distribute over 220,000 tonnes of liquid, syrup and granular sugar a year.
The Auckland refinery has specialist capability to produce the highest quality of sugar - that used for infant nutrition, pharmaceuticals and canned vegetables.
We have a liquid sugar plant in Christchurch and our warehouse facilities in Christchurch and Dunedin are supplied direct from the Auckland refinery.
Our people are dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction – which might explain why we’re ISO 9001-2008, ISO 17025 and ISO 14001 certified.
Competitive to the core
Most countries have a tariff, duty, quota or licence system to prohibit the importation of sugar. New Zealand Sugar Company is one of the few refineries in the world exposed to free market forces. As a result, we work extra hard to stay competitive and this has become one of our core business strengths.
