Our exports of white refined and raw sugar are mainly Asia–Pacific focused. Key markets include Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Guam/Saipan and Kiribati/Tuvalu. Our high-quality sugar-based blend products are exported for use in the food and beverage industries in the Asia-Pacific region, most notably Japan.
Sucrogen: flying the flag for high-tech sugar export
Sucrogen owns and operates one of the only three specialised food-grade bulk refined 'BIBO' (bulk-in, bulk-out/bag-out) sugar vessels in the world.
Our vessel, the MV “Pioneer”, has a cargo capacity of 20,000 tonnes and can load refined sugar in bulk to be delivered around Australia or overseas. Once docked, it can discharge its load in bulk at 500 tonnes per hour, or in bags packed on board at 3000 tonnes per day. Our "Pioneer" flies the Australian flag, has a crew of 18 Australians, and calls Mackay its home port.
